What features are available in the Parent Portal?

As a parent you will have access to the following information:

Profile Dashboard

  • Age and date-of-birth
  • House group, class, scholastic year
  • Student ID code
  • Student email address

Child Profile

Parent Dashboard

As a parent, you will also have access to your own personal dashboard within Compass, accessible by clicking on your name.

The Parent Dashboard will display:

  • Parent ID Codes
  • Student Profile links
Tab Details
Learning Tasks This will have no data available until the module is open at your school
Insights This will have no data available until the module is open at your school
Conferences This will have no data available until the module is open at your school
Payments This will have no data available until the module is open at your school
Communication This will have no data available until the module is open at your school

The Cog icon will provide parents with access to the following areas:

Option Details
My Files Files can be uploaded for your own personal records, these files do not feed into the school or your child's portal -- they are for your own personal storage.
My Payments This will redirect you to the parent dashboard, displaying the payment tab. This will have no data available until the module is used.
My Compass Identity Card This will have no data available until the module is used.
Change My Password This will allow you to reset your password.
Update My Details This will allow you to update your mobile phone number and email address for your child's school records

In the future will Awards, Merits and Demerits be visible to parents?

In the future, your school may choose to acknowledge your child's achievements through the parent portal. This will remain a school-based decision.

When will I have further access to other areas of the portal?

The remaining modules will be enabled progressively over time. Your school will keep you updated on new functionality within the portal as they are released at your school.

Can I see both my children on the same portal, even if they are at different schools?

No. Each school has their own unique portal.

Can I see all of my children in the one parent portal if they are at the same school?

Yes, all children will be displayed within a single parent portal if they attend the same school.

When can I access my child's semester report through the portal?

This feature will be available once the school is using the semester report module.

What information can I expect to see under the NewsFeed?

NewsFeed will provide parents with information relating to the school generally, or their child's specific year level or stage.

Can I update my contact details within the portal?

There is an option to update your mobile phone number and email address. This will be sent to the school to process the changes.

As a parent can I see my child's medical alerts within the parent portal?

At present, medical alerts are not visible within the parent portal. These will be available in the near future.

As a parent can I email my child’s class teachers?

Once this feature is enabled at your school there will be two options to do this:

  • On the portal dashboard, there will be a link to email your child’s teachers. Clicking this link will display all of your child’s teachers, and the classes they teach
  • By clicking on a Class within the portal you will be taken to the class page, where you can email the teacher of that class.
